COPLAND V. BON IVER
Two of the most original voices in American music combine in Copland V. Bon Iver. This piece combines the former’s Appalachian Spring suite with songs of Bon Iver, drawn mainly from the self-titled Bon Iver, Bon Iver album. The fusion is an exploration of our relationship with nature, and furthermore looks at how nature then becomes a participant in our relationship with one another. It is an introspective and pastoral journey through the hills of Appalachia to Bon Iver’s many remembrances- Calgary, Perth, Minnesota, WI and Holocene- then back again.
